A blast from the past as the Oldham Evening Chronicle brings back its Green Final sports edition for the first time in 40 years.

The Chronicle is hoping Oldham Athletic can continue their FA Cup giant-killing spree, having already knocked Liverpool out, they face a replay against Everton on Tuesday.

The limited edition Green Final will hit the streets as Latics' supporters return to Oldham in a fleet of coaches.

Four decades ago, there would have been queues at newsagents to get hold of the iconic Green ‘Un and publishers are hoping to recreate that buzz.

Just 5000 copies of the 12-page paper will be printed and it will also be on sale at 24-hour supermarkets and selected newsagents first thing in the morning - provided there are any left.

The newspaper will be running special pull-outs either side of the game.
