Aldi confirms it is looking for more PR agencies

Budget supermarket Aldi is on the lookout for new PR agencies to potentially add to its roster.

The retailer confirmed it was working with the ad industry trade body ISBA to identify new agencies.

An Aldi spokesperson said: “Aldi work with a number of agencies and regularly review the services we receive from external organisations. We are working with ISBA to identify PR and Social Media agencies that we may wish to add to our roster as Aldi continues to grow.”

Last year, Citypress won a competitive pitch to handle the corporate PR for Aldi.

Weber Shandwick had held the account since 2008, although it remains Aldi’s retained consumer PR and social media agency.

Weber had also previously handled Aldi’s UK public affairs, until this account was won by Burson-Marsteller two years ago.

London and Edinburgh agency Clarion has also been working recently with the retailer on consumer briefs.
