It’s looking to provide individuals and businesses in the county with networking and learning opportunities, and will work with the creative, digital and marketing sectors to support investment, employment and training.

Lane said: “We’ve consulted extensively with businesses to ensure that Media Yorkshire meets its remit of coming from industry and working for industry.

“At this early stage, we’ve had interest from some of Yorkshire’s biggest marketing agencies and brands, who see the value in coming together to further the industry in the region and globally.”

Martin Boddy, chief executive officer of Sheffield-based Jaywing, said: “Our region has world-class agencies delivering award-winning work for global brands. It’s important that we work together to get our industry the recognition it deserves and support the talent pipeline, which so often sees some of the best talent heading to London. Media Yorkshire is a great vehicle to achieve this goal.”
