Metrolink has ‘wrapped’ one of its yellow trams for the first time after agreeing a commercial partnership with Selfridges.

Running throughout the network, the tram has been bedecked in a new festive coat advertising its store at Exchange Square. It will remain in place throughout the whole Christmas period.

Jane Sharrocks, general manager of Selfridges Exchange Square, said: “We’re extremely excited to be working with Metrolink on this campaign – it’s truly a first for everyone involved. We’re hoping it will cause a bit of a stir amongst Manchester commuters and help everyone get into the festive spirit – even those travelling to work on a Monday morning!”

Peter Cushing, Transport for Greater Manchester’s Metrolink director, added: “We are delighted to have such a prestigious and well-respected brand on board, showcasing Metrolink as a great way to pick up some Christmas bargains and enjoy all the festive fun on offer across Greater Manchester.

“We hope its colourful and striking design helps to spread festive cheer as it makes its way across the network.”
