MC2 retained for pharmaceuticals strategy

Datamonitor Healthcare has retained Manchester’s MC2 to design and implement an international communications strategy.

The agency, which established a specialist pharmaceutical team last year, has been tasked with ensuring that Datamonitor Healthcare’s market position is reinforced in core global markets and will also provide communications support for growth strategies in emerging markets.

Joe Dixon, associate director at MC2, said: “Datamonitor Healthcare has a remarkable reputation for delivering meaningful, timely research from some of the best analysts in the industry.

“It has ambitious growth plans in place and has recognised that a strategic focus on communications is essential to help meet them. We’re looking forward to the challenge.”

Datamonitor Healthcare is part of Datamonitor, which was acquired by Informa in 2007 for £513m, and provides expert research and analysis to the global pharmaceutical industry.

Marketing director Tulumba Ntumba added: “An effective communications strategy is essential to reinforce our position at the cutting-edge of developments in the sector. MC2’s strategic approach coupled with its proven global reach and knowledge of our sector made it the obvious choice.”

MC2 was also retained recently by Allied London and has picked up new briefs from Boost Juice Bars and Mondelez International.
