Digital Economy conference set for MediaCityUK

A 3-day conference examining Open Digital is to take place at MediaCityUK this November.

It’s the fourth annual Digital Economy event and this year, it will be looking to see how society “could be transformed through the design and deployment of information and communication technology.”

Among the speakers are games industry legend Ian Livingstone CBE; Professor Dame Wendy Hall, the founding director of the Web Science Trust; and Professor Irene Ng, director of the International Institute for Product and Service Information.

The UK Research Councils Digital Economy says its invested £138m in innovation projects since its launch in 2008 and each year invites researchers from various sectors and disciplines to network with businesses, the government and communities to share findings.

This year’s conference will be run across The University of Salford, The Lowry, the BBC and the MediaCityUK studios.

It takes place from Monday 4th November to Wednesday 6th November.
