North West hybrid cloud and managed service provider ANS has acquired specialist IT service provider Eison.

The combined businesses will see turnover reach around £60 million, employing more than 250 people, and will allow ANS to further execute on its RAPID converged infrastructure and private cloud offerings.

Eison, based in Stockport, was founded in 2006 and had a turnover of £7.5m in the 12 months to October 31.

The firm designs, implements and supports complex network, datacentre and mobility solutions for organisations with locations in the UK and around the globe.

Entrepreneur Scott Fletcher, chairman and founder of Manchester-based ANS, said: “This acquisition will further underpin our hybrid cloud and datacentre strategy allowing us to embrace the opportunities for intelligent WAN’s and software defined networking.

“As user mobility and adoption of both public and private cloud platforms increases it’s ever more important to understand the journey that data takes from the cloud all the way to the end user device.

“This acquisition gives us the additional expertise to ensure that our networking solutions are as innovative and robust as our datacentre solutions giving our joint customers the ideal partnership for their ongoing needs.

“Eison, like ANS, has been built on technical excellence and outstanding customer service and we are thrilled to welcome them to the team at ANS.”

Founders and directors at Eison, Jamie Coan and Richard Peck, will remain with the organisation. They said they saw ANS as the perfect platform for growth for the Eison team.

On behalf of the Eison board, Richard Peck, said: “We are delighted to have found such a safe pair of hands for the business that we have built over the last nine years.

“ANS’s customer service focus and technical expertise means that our customers and staff can be safe in the knowledge that they will continue to be looked after.”
