A British start-up has launched a new service in Manchester, to help people find cleaners.

hassle.com was founded by Alex Depledge and Jules Coleman, former management consultants at Accenture in the city.

The firm has already received $6m in funding after running operations in London and Dublin.

"Manchester was the obvious choice as it's such a creative, cultural city with lots of busy professionals and working parents who want to make the most of what this thriving city has to offer. Hassle.com helps them to outsource some of their chores and free up their time so they can do more of the things they enjoy. We are really excited about officially launching in Manchester,” explained CEO Depledge.

“Jules and I have many happy memories of our time living and working in this area. It's great to be back with our business and to feel like we're giving something back to a city which has done a lot for us."

The company was launched in 2013 after Coleman taught herself to code in her spare time.

It works by customers typing in their postcode and browsing through local cleaners’ profiles and reviews. Cleaners are recruited to run their own “micro-businesses” as they accept bids for work. Each is vetted, interviewed and approved by Hassle.com.

The service is expected to expand into Leeds shortly.
