Jeff Coghlan, the chief executive and founder of Matmi will be a keynote speaker at this year’s SAScon.

The conference focuses on search, analytics and social media and Coghlan will be discussing the mouse, the touch screen and “the demise of the computer as we know it.”

“This year we will see the rise of perceptual computing in exhibitions, theme parks and shop windows, with technology that uses gestures and voice recognition to make the interface the person,” he explained.

“At SAScon, I will explore how we got to this point from the days of working with nothing but a keyboard, a tape drive and eventually the mouse. I’m really looking forward to it and I hope to give the delegates a fresh perspective on perceptual computing.”

Matmi in Cheshire specialises in branded entertainment, including games, social and app production.

“We’re very excited to announce Jeff Coghlan as a keynote speaker. He is a pioneer in what he does and he’s not afraid to push the boundaries when it comes to digital,” added Richard Gregory, managing director of Latitude and a founder of SAScon.

Prolific North is the media partner of the conference.
