The Juice Academy signs up the West Midlands Fire Service

WMFSThe Juice Academy, which claims to be the UK’s first social media apprenticeship programme, has secured its first public sector partner in the West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS).

The WMFS wishes to take on a couple of social media apprentices to join its corporate communications team based in Birmingham. Interested applicants should get their skates on though as the deadline for applications closes on 24 January.

The WMFS is planning to host a ‘boot camp’ day at a base in Birmingham to help them decide which of the apprentices they’d like to take on.

Ty Bhogal, of the WMFS said: “We were really impressed by the calibre of apprentices at the Academy and decided we should participate. We’re changing the way we communicate with our local communities and this is an exciting opportunity for school leavers to use their social media skills – which come naturally to them – in the workplace, benefiting both us as a fire service and them as the apprentice.”

“We know the West Midlands is brimming with social media talent and we’re really looking forward to hearing from Facebook fanatics and tweetaholics who want to join us.”

The Juice Academy, which is part of Tangerine PR, was established in July this year.
