The big screen adaptation of Swallows and Amazons will be released on August 19th.

Filmed on location in Yorkshire and the Lake District last summer, it was supported by the Yorkshire Content Fund.

The cast includes Rafe Spall (BFG, I Give it a Year) as Captain Flint, Andrew Scott (Pride, Sherlock) as an agent, Kelly Macdonald (No Country for Old Men, Boardwalk Empire) as Mrs Walker, Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones) as Mrs Blackett, Jessica Hynes (Shaun of the Dead) as Mrs Jackson, and Harry Enfield (Bad Education, Kevin and Perry Go Large) as Mr Jackson.

The film is produced by Harbour Pictures’ Nick Barton and Nick O’Hagan, alongside Joe Oppenheimer from BBC Films. Executive producers include Christine Langan of BBC Films, the BFI’s Natascha Wharton, Studiocanal’s Danny Perkins and Jenny Borgars, Screen Yorkshire’s Hugo Heppell, Alexa Seligman and Jay Taylor of Electric Shadow, Peter Watson of HanWay Films, Steve Milne, and Ian Maiden.

HanWay Films are handling worldwide sales, with Studiocanal doing the UK distribution.
