The visitor attraction at the former Quay Street set is now selling the last remaining tickets and will not be taking tours along the famous cobbles next year.

The low key announcement on the website today simply says:

“If you haven’t been already, then now is your last chance to visit Coronation Street the Tour as it will come to an end on December 31st.
Remaining tickets are now on sale – to book your place head over to the website. Don’t forget to share your photos of the day on Twitter using#CorrieTour “

The tours started last April when the filming moved the MediaCityUK in order for bigger sets where even the road is significantly wider, so that two cars could appear at the same time.

The attraction has welcomed over half a million visitors to the famous terraced street and interior sets known to millions as Weatherfield’s Coronation Street, where the soap had been filmed for over 50 years.

ITV Controller of Partnerships James Penfold told the MEN today: “The tour at Quay Street was always for a limited time and the demand has exceeded all our expectations.

“However, all good things have to come to an end and the Coronation Street lot will be removed in early 2016 for the site to be returned to Allied London for future development.”
