The Gate opens up DI Jack Dylan for TV

IMG_0093The Gate Films is moving into drama with a television crime series featuring DI Jack Dylan from the best-selling book series.

The series, written under the name R C Bridgestock, recently appeared at number eight in the best crime and thriller authors of all time in a W H Smith poll voted by the public.

R. C. Bridgestock is the name that husband and wife co-authors Robert (Bob) and Carol Bridgestock write under. He spent many years working in the police force, taking charge of 26 murder cases and worked on the Yorkshire Ripper case, while she also worked for the police in the admin department.

Co-founder and senior producer at The Gate, Sarah Jarvis said they were all looking forward to getting started on the project.

“We feel privileged to be associated with Bob & Carol and now the option is signed are keen to get underway. We have a brilliant team at the Gate who are all chomping at the bit to be involved in the Dylan project.”

Ki Agency Ltd did the deal on the options in association with Brie Burkeman and Serafina Clarke Ltd.

The Gate Films moved to Ancoats in Manchester last year, following an investment of more than £1m in a new 6000sq ft office.

It has a 40 strong team spread over offices in Manchester, Edinburgh, London and Cape Town.
