Mediasmiths, which was one of the first tenants at MediaCityUK, has closed down its UK operations, putting them into voluntary liquidation.
The firm was involved at the concept stages with Peel, designing its shared media infrastructure.
While its UK operations have shut, divisions in Australia and Sweden will be unaffected, having become separate legal entities.
Nobody was available to comment at MediaCityUK and we are awaiting a statement from Salford City Council, which appointed Mediasmiths to manage the digital workflow centre at The Landing in 2012.
Of the 3 companies originally appointed to manage hubs at The Landing, iBurbia pulled out of its contract; Sumners called in the liquidators; and now Mediasmiths has closed its UK offices.
