BBC Breakfast presenter Susanna Reid is to be unveiled as the new face of ITV’s replacement for Daybreak, the Sunday People has claimed.

The paper says that Reid has been poached with the offer of a £1million salary and the chance to become the face of the channel’s new early morning programme, provisionally titled Good Morning Britain.

The 43-year-old has presented BBC Breakfast alongside Bill Turnbull since the show moved to MediaCityUK in April 2012, commuting daily from her home in London which is just eight miles from ITV’s central London studios on the South Bank.

Reid’s stock is particularly high after a successful appearance on the last series of Strictly Come Dancing, and the People claims she has also been offered the chance to front her own non-breakfast show.

She’s previously worked for the BBC News Channel, Radio 5 Live and BBC Radio Bristol.

Last week it was revealed that Lorraine Kelly would be quitting Daybreak to front her own show five days a week. She currently hosts Lorraine from Monday to Thursday, with Kate Garraway stepping in on Fridays.
