Lime adds to senior team and looks to America

Lime Pictures has appointed ITV Studios’ former development executive, Jack Kennedy, as head of format development.

Kennedy has previously developed entertainment formats such as hidden camera series Fool Britannia (currently on its 2nd series); Jason Manford’s Funny Old Year; The Big Sports Quiz starring Paddy McGuiness; and Alistair McGowen’s World of Sport.

“Lime are masters of turning up the volume on real life. Lightly formatting this space feels like natural progression and we are perfectly poised to deliver the next generation of buzz generating shows,” he said.

He’s the latest high profile addition to the Liverpool-based production company and will be working alongside another new recruit, head of reality and factual entertainment, Phil Harris, who’s currently exec producing a new entertainment travelogue with TOWIE’s Joey Essex for ITV2.

Harris will be working specifically on cast-led shows and recently executive produced, The Only Way is Vegas, The Only Way is Marbs and series 9 of The Only Way is Essex.

He’s also been key in promoting the company in the USA. Prior to joining Lime he series produced Celebrity Big Brother for Channel 4 and Playing it Straight for E4. He was also producer on Saturday Night Takeaway for ITV.

The third new addition is Angela Weingrad, who becomes vice president of casting and talent for Lime Pictures in the U.S.A.

All three will report directly to head of non-scripted programming Derek McLean, who stated:

“We are delighted to welcome Jack and Angela to the business at a time when there is real opportunity for growth and a huge interest in our specialist genres both in the UK and oversees.  I’m confident that we have the strongest development team to deliver real-time reality drama and exciting new formatted shows for global markets.”
