Toby Foster returns to BBC Radio Sheffield
Foster was suspended in December for using “offensive language” directed at a member of BBC staff.
Last night, he wrote on his Facebook page:
“Hi folks, I’m sorry there has been silence from me and the radio station about why I’ve not been presenting the breakfast programme. Just before Christmas you’ll know I made some comments on social media which were totally unfounded and one in particular was offensive. I’ve apologised to everyone here at BBC Radio Sheffield and between us we’re looking forward to moving on and bringing you the best breakfast show we can. See you on Monday from 7am. Toby.”
Foster has presented the show since 2002.
The BBC told Prolific North in a statement:
"Toby Foster has apologised to both BBC staff and listeners for the inappropriate tweets he sent before Christmas. The BBC has accepted that apology and he’ll be back presenting the ‘Toby Foster at Breakfast’ programme on BBC Radio Sheffield from Monday (27th January)".
