422.tv wins television weather ident contract

Think_Before_You_Flush-422Manchester-based television and film post production company, 422.tv, has been chosen to produce the latest United Utilities weather idents for Granada and Border TV.

The One MCR agency has commissioned 422.tv for six new idents. 422.tv worked closely with the creative team at One MCR, to create different themes for each ident, from ITV Border TV’s ‘winter-wise’ theme through to the ‘think before you flush’ environmental campaigns.
 
With a four-strong animation and design team at 422.tv working on the project, the coordination of all animation, post-production and production is being led by creative director Rob Pickard. Work also includes composing musical strings and sound design in-house to bring the animations to life. The sequences are created using Maya, After Effects, Smoke, Flash and Toon Boom Animate.
 
422.tv’s managing director, David Jackson, says: “We were working to a specific brief that incorporated more greater camera movement and animation into the ten second versions, whilst creating a greater three-dimensional look visually. It’s a great example of how we work with agencies as an extension of their creative team to deliver the results to clients.”
