Salford gets comedy workshop as part of BBC Production Creativity Festival

Getting On actress Joanna Scanlan, will be joining producer Jon Plowman for a comedy masterclass in Salford as part of the BBC Production Creativity Festival.

Scanlan also appeared in The Thick of It as well as the nursing sitcom and is due to write and star in a new comedy set on the Wirral called Puppy Love.

The festival workshop is one of a series being held between September 30 and October 4 across all of the main BBC bases.

Pat Younge, chief creative officer at BBC Production, told the Ariel magazine that the festival was a chance to “celebrate creativity, be inspired and find out more about the future and fast changing media-landscape”.

“As a team we are the largest content creation business in the world, producing 1800 hours of content each year with revenue of £420m, and are responsible for the delivery of international hits such as Top Gear, Strictly Come Dancing and Luther.”
