Real and Smooth Ltd has confirmed that two more senior staff have left Real Radio XS.

Russ Collington, the acting programme controller and breakfast show producer, Rachel Houghton are no longer at the Salford-based station.

There are still question marks over the future ownership of Real Radio XS, following Global Radio’s announcement that it was one of 3 stations it would sell to complete its merger with GMG Radio.

The Competition Commission is conducting an inquiry into the deal and a provisional ruling in February stated that it could lead to a lessening of competition and higher prices for advertisers in certain regions, including Greater Manchester. One of the “possible remedies” was to sell off individual stations in affected regions. Global’s response was to offer Real Radio XS in Manchester and Scotland and Gold in the East Midlands.

The final decision by the Commission is expected in May.
