After its appointment of former Trinity COO, Mark Hollinshead, Dentsu Aegis has turned to another former Trinity man for its North East office.
Russell Borthwick was the managing director of Trinity Mirror in the North East, for just a few months after re-joining the firm from his own comms agency, Press Ahead.

At Dentsu Aegis, he will responsible for its Newcastle office and introducing new brands and services from across the agency to the region.
“This really is an exciting time for our team and is a sign that a global player in the media space views the North East as being a market worthy of a significant presence and this kind of investment,” said Borthwick.
“We are looking forward to working with clients old and new across the North East and beyond to provide global scale, customer insight and trading power backed up by exceptional local knowledge and client service.”
He is one of 3 new appointments in the North East, alongside Silverbean’s Steve Underwood, who becomes a director of the agency’s iProspect division.
The third new arrival is Kevin McEwan, who’s worked as associate director at MediaCom in London for almost 10 years. Prior to that he was at Robson Brown. He will be media manager at Carat.
