New role for Johnston Press group editor
A weekly editor is to take the helm at five Lancashire weeklies in the latest reshuffle by Johnston Press.
Nicola Adam, who has been group editor of a number of titles including the Lancaster Guardian and The Visitor in Morecambe, is to move south.
Her new brief will see her return to edit the Chorley and Leyland Guardian - having briefly edited the papers in 2012 - and she will also take on the Garstang Courier, Lytham St Annes Express, Longridge News and Fleetwood Weekly News.
She'll also become deputy editor of the Lancashire Evening Post under Gillian Parkinson, who also now edits Blackpool daily The Gazette.
Chris Daggett, group editor at East Lancashire Newspapers, will take on Adam's former role editing the Guardian and Visitor.
Adam, who will leave her current role at the end of this week, said: "It has been a fantastic three years working with the Lancaster Guardian and The Visitor and I am absolutely proud of the remarkable transformations made both in paper, online and in the way we work as journalists in this new digital age.
"It has been an honour and privilege to work in this absolutely beautiful area which has so much to offer – you are all very lucky to live and work in a place so blessed with natural and historical assets.
"As we have morphed into our constantly improving multi-media operation, you have supported us, got involved and increasingly had a say in the way we report the news."
