Monday Moves: Flipbook, Peppermint Soda, Portfolio, Creation and more

Each week, Monday Moves collates all the recent job-related news on Prolific North, as well as running through all the new opportunities on our job board.

RedStar Creative is looking to double staff numbers over the next year after a six-figure investment.

CTI Digital, also in Manchester, confirmed plans to hire more staff after “smashing” its turnover target.

On the appointments front, former Amaze managing partner Liane Grimshaw has joined theEword board, while Kulahub has appointed an Ecademy co-founder as its non-executive chairman.

RMS PR in Altrincham has a new account director, Brand8 has appointed a former BBC and ITN journalist as its head of content, Livelink has promoted two new account managers and there were also a couple of promotions at DJS Research. Preston’s Bespoke Internet also added to its team.

There was more turbulence in the digital department at Morrisons, while there was a significant promotion for BBC North’s Ian Haythornthwaite. Another BBC employee, Dan Donald, has however left to lead front end development at McCann Manchester.

And at BBC Radio York, there’s a new host for the breakfast show, while Cheshire agency Stein IAS has made a big hire at its London office.

On our jobs board, Flipbook, the Manchester-based creative production studio, has a vacancy for a Business Development/Account Manager to take it “to a new level”. You’ll be the public face of the company and wil have at least two years’ experience in sales and marketing.

Table tennis skills are not essential for the successful applicant for the role of Creative Designer at Peppermint Soda, but a minimum of five years’ experience is. “Boundary-stretching ideas” are also a must.

Up in Preston, design agency ICG is looking for a PHP Developer to work on a variety of products using PHP, JavaScript, MySQL and AJAX. It would be helpful if you had experience with mobile app development (PhoneGap), Drupal or Magento.

In Bolton, creative agency Portfolio has two opportunities: a Creative Designer with an “enviable portfolio of print and digital work” and an Artworker/designer who can spot “smelling pistakes” from a mile off.

Creation, a graphic design agency in Manchester, works with the likes of Little Chef and Diageo and it has a role going for a Designer. A print specialist, you’ll be as comfortable in front of a Mac as you are in front of a client, and brochure or magazine design experience would be an advantage.

The “largest PR agency outside of London”, The BIG Partnership, has a vacancy in its Liverpool office for an Account Executive. It’s an entry level position and you’ll work as part of a team implementing campaigns for BIG’s clients.

Still in Merseyside, there’s a Senior Account Executive position on offer with a “growing” digital marketing agency. A background in a digital agency is a help, as is experience in project management.

Finally this week, there are two jobs going in Yorkshire. A “leading agency” in Leeds is after a Senior Email Account Manager, while a South Yorkshire agency is looking for a Community Manager.
