In the latest reshuffle at Johnston Press, former assistant editor of the The Star in Sheffield, Chris Burton, has been appointed as group editor of South Yorkshire Newspapers.The series of titles includes the Doncaster Free Press, South Yorkshire Times, Epworth Bells and Doncaster Star.
Burton replaces Graeme Huston who was appointed group editor of the Derbyshire Timesand a series of sister weeklies last month in a shake-up of Johnston Press editors.
As assistant editor for the past 15 months, he was also managing editor of The Business, a glossy magazine for the Sheffield City Region business community.
He has worked for Johnston Press for 11 years, having joined in 2002 as a reporter after graduating in journalism from Sheffield University.
