Sunderland football legend, Micky Horswill has joined Sun FM after his “sacking” from Star Radio.

The Black Cats FA Cup hero was originally part of the North East Legends line-up, but claims he was sacked at the end of last season by Malcolm McDonald.

However, Sun FM has stepped in to offer him a new Friday night show talking about Sunderland AFC. He’ll also be on air every match day at 10.30 to look ahead to the next game.

The station has also added to its sales staff, taking on Alan Geddes, formerly of TFM, Metro and Century as well as key account director, Kevin McAuley, who previously worked at Capital and Real Radio.

Steve Close has been named sponsorship, promotions and interactive account manager. His 15 years experience have seen him work at Century, Real and Capital Radio.

It means the commercial team now numbers twelve.
