Plans to turn a 125 acre site on Liverpool’s docklands into a creative district will move a step closer to reality next week.
Part of a regeneration project for North Liverpool, Ten Streets, is forecast to create more than 2,500 jobs.
A report will go before Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet on Friday, before going out to public consultation.
“Ten Streets is a long term project but we need to get the right foundations in place so can deliver something unique in the UK. This new framework document will no doubt be of huge interest to everyone who wants to see the transformation of this part of north Liverpool and the public consultation will be critical to shaping its direction,” said Joe Anderson, Mayor of Liverpool.
The council is hoping to attract creative companies to move to the area alongside art organisations and the country’s first “Stage-Around” theatre – where seats move around the stages.
The council is hoping that the report will return to the cabinet in December for approval and formal adoption.
