Steve Kuncewicz, one of the North’s best-known intellectual property, media and social media lawyers, has joined Slater and Gordon.
Kuncewicz was formerly head of intellectual property and media at Bermans.
A regular legal expert on television and radio, Kuncewicz specialises in contentious and non-contentious intellectual property, media and social media legal issues, and works primarily in the creative, film and television sectors.
Prior to Bermans, he was head of legal at Manchester-based online retailer Boohoo.com, and has also worked for Cobbetts, Ralli, Halliwells and Gateley.
His recruitment is part of Slater and Gordon’s expansion of its business legal services team, totalling seven new senior starters.
Stephen Lintott, head of business legal services at Slater and Gordon, said: “Our vision has always been to bring together our commercial property, company/commercial, regulatory and business employment and commercial litigation teams, to form a new business legal services group. This gives our clients access to a team of leading specialists in each area of the law.
“We are delighted to welcome our new team members as part of the growth of our business legal services offering.”
