A documentary about a “unique” massage parlour in the North of England has been commissioned by Channel 4.

The 1×60 minute programme is being made by Transparent TV and was ordered by Ian Dunkley, the channel’s commissioning editor for factual entertainment.

The Massage Parlour (working title) is about one of the U.K’s only female-owned parlours, run by a mother and daughter team. It’s described as going behind the scenes of what is a “typical warm and friendly family run enterprise – except for the personal service it offers.”

A transmission date has yet to be set. The executive producer is Jazz Gowans.

It was announced at the Channel 4’s Upfront 2015 event for the advertising industry.
