Former England cricketer Graeme Swann is to join Test Match Special on Radio 5 live sports extra, Radio 4 LW and the BBC Sport website.

Swann, who retired from international cricket during the recent disastrous Ashes series, joins former West Indies cricketer Sir Viv Richards on the team, which also includes Tony Cozier, Simon Mann, Kevin Howells and Derek Pringle.

The team will offer ball-by-ball commentary of England’s one-day tour of the West Indies, starting on February 28.

Swann said: “I grew up listening to Test Match Special and it is an honour to have the chance to now work with the team and continue my relationship with BBC Radio. I am particularly looking forward to returning to the Kensington Oval in Barbados with so many happy memories of our T20 World Cup victory there in 2010.”

Swann is no stranger to BBC Radio having co-presented the Sony award-winning Not Just Cricket show on Radio 5 live alongside Radio 1’s Greg James and fellow England bowler Jimmy Anderson.
