Job Specification – Web Designer


Working as part of the digital team at Kenyon Fraser you will be responsible for the design, layout and html/css coding of the website.

Reporting directly into the digital director, working alongside both the digital team and the design studio you will be involved in a variety of projects from concept to implementation.

You will be expected to liase with clients, understand requirements and support project progression throughout each development phase.

Essential Skills

  • Graphic design and creativity – Working with the design studio you will be responsible for the design output from the digital team.
  • Photoshop / Fireworks / Dreamweaver
  • HTML / CSS
  • Basic coding skills (eg javascript / VB / php)

Desired Skills

  •  Open source CMS experience (WordPress / Drupal)
  • Ability to work with clients to develop their design ideas
  • Ability to work with clients to develop a specification
  • A strong understanding of SEO principles and their practical application


Hours and environment

 37.5 hours per week.  Additional hours may be required to meet deadlines.

You will be working in a large multi-disciplined agency and be required to support all departments in delivering digital output.  You may be required to travel to attend client meetings.

You will be required to work on a number of different projects including B2B, B2C and public sector projects.


£18,000 – £25,000 dependent on experience.


 Applicants must have a minimum 2 years web design experience, and clearly be able to demonstrate design and creative skills through their portfolio. Preferably applicants will have been the design lead on several projects however this is not a necessity.

Personal Specification

 Kenyon Fraser is a multi-disciplined agency working for a variety of clients, locally, nationally and internationally.  The successful candidate will have a good understanding of broader marketing principles and practices and will be able to work alongside each discipline to ensure the digital output supports our clients overall goals.

The successful candidate will be able to work as part of a team or individually as and when project requirements dictate.  They will have a passion for delivering exceptional design.

Candidates must be driven to achieve personal success whilst supporting the goals of the company.

Your role will involve working with all departments in the agency to deliver the digital output.  You will be able to work with other colleagues to develop ideas and project plans, as well as demonstrate these to clients.
