Amaze is looking for a Technical Manager / Architect who has significant experience with the Adobe AEM/CQ product suite, ideally 5.6.1 or 6.x. The candidate should have exposure to working with international brands in a multi-site/multi-lingual environment at all levels of stakeholder, both technical and non-technical.

The candidate should also be a strong developer capable of creating technical designs and architecture within the full Java stack, as well as expertise in setting up and configuring Adobe AEM/CQ. Integration with e-Commerce applications or portal systems such as Hybris and Backbase will be a major advantage in this role.

The role may involve some travel (approximately 10-15%) so candidates should have the ability and flexibility to work off-site as and when required. It is anticipated this role will be a 50/50 architecture to development role although this will inevitably vary per client.


• Reporting to the Technical Director you will lead the development and advancement of our CQ practice
• Working with existing and prospective clients at a pre-sales level
• Translate client requirements into technical designs and architecture
• Define and document integration points
• Define and document implementation processes, quality gates and standards
• Define and document best practices to manage performance and scalability of the content management and content delivery solution
• Act as lead developer for the solution where required
• Train and mentor development teams on the CQ/AEM product with the ability to train from a zero experience position
• Diagnose and solve technical problems related to implementation / integration
• Lead the IT team in the installation, configuration and management processes of the designed Adobe AEM/CQ product suite solution
• Working with the e-Commerce team, identify and specify integration points between AEM/CQ and Hybris
• Drive the development of an Amaze reference AEM/CQ reference solution


• Significant experience in all parts of AEM working as a Technical Design Authority with at least 2 major implementations in Author / Publish / Dispatcher
• Strong analytical, problem solving and production diagnostic skills
• Strong, relevant technical skills to a successful CQ implementation (Java, JSP, Tomcat, JBoss, Sightly, JEE, Servlets, REST, SOAP etc…) – this is a Greenfield environment so the candidate will be expected to be able to choose and justifiy the technologies required
• Knowledge and experience of OSGi architecture / specification
• Workflow design and implementation
• Proficient in Continuous Integration/Build automation using Maven & Jenkins
• Proficient in unit testing frameworks
• Authentication and identity frameworks
• Integration with a transactional environment
• Process definition, implementation and enforcement
• Strong management skills with a can-do attitude
• Ability to train and mentor inexperienced team members


• Experience with off shore development teams
• CQ 6.x exposure
• Exposure to integration with Hybris
• Exposure to Backbase Portal
• General development / architecture of other CMS solutions (for example SDL Tridion, EPiServer, Sitecore)
• Global blue-chip brand experience
• Cloud computing (AWS preferred)
