We have a team of skilled Developers in-house, as well as Testers and we are looking to expand our team, we’re seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to support and work closely alongside our DevOps Manager.
This is a new role within LYNX and you will be working closely with our Software Engineering team, whilst also drawing on the expertise of our existing I.T. Support team; in order to support in the management and monitoring of new and existing I.T. architecture. The successful applicant for this role is likely to be either a recent Graduate who possesses a high classification in a Computer Science degree, or they will have some form of commercial experience in a similar role. For example, you may have demonstrable systems operations exposure, or you may have worked in a software engineering environment previously. Although you’re not expected to be fully proficient in coding, an awareness of scripting and development processes; the agile methodology in particular, would also be advantageous.
We operate across both Linux and Microsoft, therefore if you have experience of these environments it would be ideal, although you can expect to learn more about this on-the-job. Within this role, you can expect to support in and learn about the monitoring of software, supporting and setting up web servers and you will also familiarise yourself with RDMS Databases. You’ll also play a supportive role in ensure that deployments run smoothly and that security features are appropriate. There may also be an element of customer support within this role, so candidates should be happy to support clients remotely during working hours, as required.
