Overview: This is a temporary position to cover maternity leave. The senior e-commerce executive is responsible for maintaining the website and ensuring continued performance of all online channels, with an emphasis on responsibility for organic search. The role also includes the management of the company social media accounts and the creation of online content.


•Ensure that all web content is accurate, up to date and performing well
•Oversee the creation of online content. Design and build landing pages using the CMS, as required for SEO, PPC, email marketing and offline communications. A basic knowledge of HTML and CSS is required for this
•Liaise with product managers to ensure that the content for each holiday is present online, accurate and up to date
•Liaise with the development team about any ongoing and future developments to the website
•Diagnose and fix any issues with content display or bookings that may be reported internally or via customers
•Produce weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports about online performance using Coremetrics and Google Analytics

Search Engine Optimisation
•Plan, implement and oversee the SEO strategy for the next 12 months, taking responsibility for revenue generated from organic traffic
•Report weekly on organic performance
•Keep ahead of the news and developments in SEO
•Be aware of and monitor the website for any issues which may affect SEO
•Liaise with the PR agency to ensure that they take advantage of any link building opportunities

Social Media
•Plan, implement and oversee the social media strategy for the next 12 months
•Manage the Facebook, Twitter and Google+ accounts on a day to day basis, including out of hours as required
•Take responsibility for community management. Deal with any issues raised by customers, with the help of the customer care team
•Liaise with the PR agency on crisis management when necessary
•Manage a budget to ensure the greatest return on investment for attracting new fans and generating bookings from social media
•Report weekly on social media performance
•Keep ahead of the news and developments in social media and how these may affect the strategy
•Liaise with travel shops and the commercial director to ensure that they are following best practice and prompt them to post about relevant topics

•Write all copy for the website, considering search engine and conversion rate optimisation
•Write copy for customer and trade emails each week
•Manage and maintain the blog, writing articles and sourcing content for articles from internal and external sources
•Ensure all online copy is relevant, accurate and complements the brand and company values
