We’re looking for a talented and ambitious PR Account Executive to join our Manchester office.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our busy team, helping to generate positive news coverage and proactively promote the profile of clients. You’ll be working as part of the account team, assisting in the development of client proposals and the implementation of activity, including social media strategies. You’ll also be preparing regular reports, researching, writing and distributing press releases and attending meetings as required.


Tasks will include the following:

Client Servicing

• To build strong relationships and liaise with clients on a daily basis
• Produce reports and collate, analyse and evaluate coverage as required
• Ensure clients’ needs are being met and that agreed weekly tasks are being carried out
• To support Account Managers and Account Directors to implement agreed PR strategies and campaigns through research, writing, pitching and reporting

Team Management

• To upward manage your team mates and ensure your Managers and Directors are providing the advice and support required to ensure accounts are run in an efficient manner
• Be a complete advocate and ambassador for the company culture and structure

Media Relations

• Active media liaison and building relationships with key sector journalists
• PR and feature research and writing to create compelling news releases and blog posts on behalf of your clients
• Proactively pitching in stories to journalists
• Reacting to the news agenda where appropriate to create additional coverage opportunities

Sector Knowledge

• Take an active role in identifying and highlighting the latest techniques and opportunities in PR and social media to enable client support to be maintained or improved
• Awareness of the broad media landscape, how it might be changing so that you are able to demonstrate insight and offer strategic media consultancy to your clients

Social Media

• Support social media campaigns, including project management, understanding technology and creative considerations
• Manage clients’ presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social applications as needed
• Implement blogger outreach activity to help build an active ambassador network for clients in different industries
• Demonstrate a good knowledge of media monitoring and its importance in building brand reputation

Financial Management

• Help your colleagues and account teams to achieve monthly and yearly financial targets by being aware of account hours and fee levels
• Ensure clients are made aware of all the services Amaze offers and disbursement opportunities are followed up/maximised

Understanding the Agency

• Understand the role of PR and what it can deliver to a client’s business
• Keeping abreast of and having an opinion on the emerging shape of PR and communications in the wider marketing arena in the future
• Understand our competitive set and help to build our USPs in the market place

Digital Marketing and Technology

• Understand and use the skills and services from other Amaze businesses to build profitable relationships with clients in order to generate more business opportunities
• Use the skills from other Amaze businesses to enhance own knowledge in order to ensure credibility in the eyes of the client



• Highly organised, numeric and able to multi-task
• Personable and confident telephone manner
• Strong research and writing skills
• Basic understanding of SEO
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of social media platforms
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Passion for PR and social media and a real interest in its commercial benefits


• PR or journalism qualification
• Event management skills
• Knowledge of media evaluation processes and software
• Knowledge of media databases such as Gorkana and MediaEdge
• Established media contacts
