Job Title: Web Developer
Location: Prodo Digital Chester
Benefits Package: BUPA, 23 days holiday per annum, plus birthday off
Hours of employment: 37.5 Hours per week. 8.30am to 5pm (1 hour for lunch)
Salary: Competitive – based on experience

We are looking for a developer who is hungry to use the very latest in web technologies and be able to create unique websites, which conquer their market. We require someone who is keen to innovate both the projects they are working on and their own skills as well as the ability to raise the bar within the front end team with regards to approach and standards.

Day to day the successful candidate will be working within a 16 strong development team, with a very broad skillset. We are looking for someone to have enthusiasm to learn from their colleagues but also to broaden their own skillset independently and integrate their skills back through the team, mentoring junior team members.

Prodo is a fast paced, multi service agency, and the candidate must be adaptable to new challenges and be able to manage their workload in accordance with project timescales and milestones. They must be able to communicate efficiently with both technical and non-technical colleagues and clients.

The candidate must be proficient in the following:
 Coding HTML5 and CSS3 to W3C standards.
 Using SASS (scss)
 Using task runners such as Grunt/Gulp
 Effective at writing and debugging JavaScript and jQuery.
 Have a working understanding of Git.
 Be proficient in slicing PSDs in Adobe Photoshop.
 Experience working with CSS frameworks (Zurb Foundation/Bootstrap)

The following technologies are desirable but not essential to the role:
 Experience using asp.Net webpages (cshtml)
 Exposure to JS frameworks such as Angular JS/Knockout JS/Backbone/React JS
 Node.js
 Ajax
 Adobe Illustrator/Creative Suite
Ability to code HTML Emails (and experience with Mailchimp/Campaign Monitor)
 Experience using issue tracking software (Jira)
 Exposure to creating mobile apps (PhoneGap/Native)

The role is best suited to someone who has a keen eye for detail and is an expert in creating pixel-perfect responsive websites, the candidate will be required to run their own initial cross browser experiments before their work is verified by the testing department.

The candidate will be working on a number of varied projects for sectors including housing, leisure sport, and corporate. Alongside new build projects the role will include supporting and maintaining existing clients and projects as well as debugging bugs and errors. The candidate must be adaptable and able to brainstorm new concepts to help in the creation of content assets. The role will require the candidate to work hand in hand with designers to create invigorating UI, this includes be involved in wire-framing and the design phases as well as consulting on best practice UX.

Although not essential to the role, any candidate who possesses full stack capabilities or enthusiasm to become full stack will hold a distinct advantage, this could include ability or experience to cost and quote for jobs as well as scoping and requirements gathering from clients. Any exposure to creating content management systems such as Umbraco or WordPress, or general methodology to editor experience.
