About the role
We are seeking a journalist with proven writing, interviewing and organisational abilities.
The successful candidate will work mainly in the publishing side of the business, but will also contribute to the other areas of our activities.
You will be expected to contribute ideas and you will be part of the decision-making team.
With LBV, you will set the editorial agenda with the publisher and be the key writer with a view to you editing the title over time.
You will, as part of your responsibilities, be the online editor for LBV, which is updated daily.
A key aspect of the role is that you will be an ambassador and representative for LBV at events and meetings.
Other areas of your work will include leading on newsletters for clients and providing copywriting support to marketing and commercial projects.
You are a qualified or near-qualified print journalist.
You are a motivated self-starter.
You have the ability to juggle projects and manage priorities.
You are flexible, except when it comes to deadlines.
You can drive and have access to a vehicle.
Please note: previous experience of business journalism is not essential.
LBV, founded in 2005, is an independently owned and published magazine for business, industry and regeneration in Lancashire.
The bi-monthly printed magazine focuses on features, interviews, advice and news reviews.
The online version which is updated daily focuses more on news.

About the Northpoint Media Group
Northpoint Media draws together magazine publishing, event management, and PR and marketing activities.
The key title in the publishing arm of the group is Lancashire Business View magazine (LBV), a fixture in the county for more than a decade, and a beacon of positivity. We also publish newsletters and magazines for external clients.
We will stage around 30 events in 2016, mostly within the Lancashire Business View events programme, but also for external clients. These range from themed debates for up to 10 delegates to the national award-winning Red Rose Awards which has attracted more than 1,100 guests in each of the last three years.
The PR and marketing operation provides full-service marketing to our own businesses and for external clients.
Salary: By negotiation.
Holidays: 30 days per year (inc statutory holidays)
