Warrington Borough Council is an innovative and forward thinking local authority that is going through a period of fast-paced transformation as it seeks to continue to deliver first-class customer focussed services in a challenging financial climate. The council is embracing the move to digital first and is seeking a Head of Customer Strategy & Communications to effect this transformation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the council’s customer, digital and communications activity.
You will represent the interests of the customer by bringing together the three strategies and programme manage the transformation of customer service across the council. You will work closely with teams and departments from across the organisation to bring about the required changes. You will display the necessary leadership and management skills coupled with a natural facilitative approach to secure buy-in and achieve the desired results.
Responsibilities will include:
• Programme managing the customer service transformation programme
• Enhancing and protecting the reputation of the council and its brand by developing a professional and modern communications service
• Effectively managing budgets to deliver the required outcomes
• Creating and fostering opportunities to work with key partner organisations, policy bodies and other stakeholders
• Providing strategic advice and support to colleagues across the organisation especially the executive board and elected members.
You will have:
• A track record in successful communication strategy planning and delivery
• Significant project / programme management experience
• Proven and demonstrable skills in building effective teams
• Experience of delivering customer-focussed digital solutions
