This is a momentous time for Greater Manchester, as it seeks to capitalise on its current trajectory, including the opportunities presented by its ground-breaking devolution agreement with Government. The Business Growth Hub is at the heart of Greater Manchester’s strategy for determining and delivering business growth services. We are part of the Manchester Growth Company and we work with ambitious businesses that want to grow their bottom line, boost their profile, and create new business growth. Our key aim is to help people think differently about their business and explore different ways of developing their company.

We are looking for a suitably talented individual to the role of Head of Business Marketing to lead the Business Growth Hub’s client engagement and high profile events programme. The successful candidate will develop, implement and evaluate Greater Manchester’s Business Growth Hub’s marketing, sales and client engagement strategies with the aim of increasing client acquisition and retention. This covers a broad range of Business Growth Hub services including its Manchester Growth Company partners such as the Business Finance Solutions and International Trade teams and its external delivery network. Operating across Greater Manchester our events bring together leading entrepreneurs, high profile speakers and growth businesses to explore new growth opportunities and learn about key technology and sector developments.

The successful candidate will lead a team of marketing and event specialists and third party suppliers. Key skills and knowledge include:

• Strategic marketing, planning and delivery across multiple services
• Budget management and financial planning
• Organisational skills
• All aspects of event management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of presentation skills
• Relationship management
• Negotiation with key partners/ suppliers
