Havas Lynx is an Advertising agency with over 200 members of staff in offices in London and Manchester. We regularly run events for our staff and clients alike and we’re looking for an experienced Events Manager to join us at our offices in Manchester City Centre on a part time basis to take on responsibility for this broad range of events.
Annually we have 4 large full company events. These range in format from conferences, through to gala dinners and family fun days and are all based in Manchester. In this role, you’ll have full responsibility for all of these significant events. Not just planning and running them to budget, but also adding the benefit of your experience so that we have some really lovely additional touches, and so that every event has its own unique character and people remember them as separate occasions. We’re looking for someone with a really good understanding of the Manchester area and the venue options that exist in the region – for events both large and small.
The smaller scale events range from reward or incentive based visits for around 30 people to cities across the UK and Europe (depending on how much of a reward or incentive it might be!) We also have 2 leadership team events each year, one is run in Manchester over an afternoon, the other tends to be off site and incorporate an element of team building in the programme – investigating interesting programme options is something that we’d also like you to take responsibility for. When Christmas comes around, we have various events of different sizes, so each year you’ll handle multiple menus, venues, logistics and so forth.
We also attend events, such as awards ceremonies. We often invite our clients along as guests, so again we’re acting as hosts in these situations, so the little touches and attention to detail and accuracy around logistics are really important. When it comes to hosting clients as guests, we’d like to explore additional opportunities for corporate hospitality and so your ability to identify a great event, and secure a great deal will be really important.
Overall, we’re looking for someone who is experienced in event management, has an incredible attention to detail and really lovely creative flair for the touches that make an event special. You’ll need to be a clear communicator, great at building relationships and happy in a busy, fast paced and demanding yet social environment.
We’re flexible as to how the hours are worked for this role, and see it being around 25 hours per week, which could be split across 3,4 or 5 days to suit the best applicant.
