BBC Children’s is continuing to evolve in the digital world as consumption of media continues to change at a rapid pace. BBC Children’s interactive is the department that is responsible for BBC Children’s digital products and services across the four screens (desktop, mobile, tablet and connected TV), as well as services off the BBC such as social media accounts.
Working to the Digital Editorial Lead (platform) and Head of Interactive, and alongside the BBC Digital (aka Future Media) Heads of Product and UX, you will lead the development of BBC Children’s digital platforms and experiences for children. You will manage the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of our existing portfolio of products and content across web, apps, radio and red button as well as scoping and driving new products and experiences. You will play a key role ensuring we deliver to our key objectives including growing our audience reach and appreciation.
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll need to be a creative digital expert with strong communication; influencing: project management and leadership skills, with an understanding of how to exploit new and future technology to drive forward BBC Children’s. You’ll have a strong track record of delivering high quality online output with a passion for children’s media. You’ll have a thorough understanding of target audiences, editorial guidelines, and departmental objectives and a keen understanding of child safety and child protection issues – both online and in the real world.
