Job Purpose

Reporting into the Learning Technology Lead help support and develop Virgin Media’s ‘Learning Academies’ strategy.

As the Digital Learning Academy Manager in the award winning Learning Technology team, you will be accountable for bringing ‘best-in-class’ publishing, governance, maintenance and update processes to our 6 group-wide Learning Academy portals. As well as being technically proficient with CMS authoring platforms you will ensure ‘best-practice’ is adopted and shared across these 6 Academy portals through effective monitoring and analysis of their performance. In doing so you will provide insight and guidance to key SME’s enabling their success right across our business thus enabling our joined-up Digital Learning Strategy.

You will bring a user-centric perspective and provide best practice guidance on user experience (UX) and consult with Learning Academy Leads, SMEs and Multi Media and Design teams. Through these skills and your experience with digital platforms you will provide thought leadership in how we maintain and grow our Academy portals that underpin our learning strategy, business performance and growth of Virgin Media.

Working with key SME’s, stakeholders and the business pro-actively drive a targeted approach to learning through the Academies concept. In doing so execute and influence our ‘pull/on-demand’ Learning Academies strategy that will deliver tailored learning and development right across Virgin Media.
Responsible for the management of robust authoring, update, maintenance, retirement and evaluation processes to ensure for each Academy there are/is:

o New, fresh and relevant content/tools aligned to core demands of learners that each academy supports
o Consistently high levels of adoption and utilisation for the target audience within the Academy
o Key alignment to core business and commercial drivers that the Academy supports
o The realisation of a real ‘self-serve’ learning strategy bringing both business and individual benefit
Day-to-day and rigorous management of CMS authoring processes and authoring systems across a diverse set of content authors/users. Including defining and shaping a whole host of process around publishing, editing, modifying and organising content.
Responsible for the creation, implementation and continuation of all governance processes to ensure formal reviews of content and tools (including validity, retirement and data cleansing).

Continually evaluating all content, tools and processes associated with the Academy against key KPI’s to ensure the best fit for the learner and business.
Working with the established Programme Management Office (PMO) provide data and insight from the Academy platform(s) that will help analysts within the PMO produce meaningful MI, allowing you to influences and drive usage/uptake. Thus ensuring high levels of ROI within an Academy and activities that will shape the ongoing development of each Academy portal.

For a diverse set of stakeholders, make recommendations that will influence the success and uptake of our Learning Academies through effective communication and influencing skills.
Responsible for working with Academy Learning Managers, Academy Learning Leads and the Learning Technology team to ensure our Academies utilise ever-evolving learning technology.
Responsible for working with the Learning Design & Multi Media teams in delivering content that ‘works’ within the Academy framework (a ‘pull’ learning model) and that feels joined-up across the Academies.
Ensure consistency and that successes are shared, utilised and adopted across each Academy.
