We are looking for an intelligent, creative content marketer to join our agency team.
You will help to plan and implement content strategy for clients across a range of sectors, from retail to law, from architecture to manufacturing.
You will blend some account management with developing content plans, campaigns and briefs with our creative (writing/graphics) teams. You will then oversee placement and distribution of this content, from owned websites through social networks and outreach.
You will probably have some production skills; you’re an articulate writer, although you will excel at “ideas” and “sentiment” above the actual writing; you may have some graphic design skills, although you are more comfortable in briefing our graphics and video teams to produce inspirational and shareable content. You’re more comfortable in the fast-paced world of planning and media than settling down to craft the copy.
The concept of outreach will be familiar to you. You know where content can be placed and shared for maximum amplification, and understand the variety of readerships for blogs, newspapers and social networks. You understand engagement, community management and how a brand can use different media to generate website traffic, page-views and ‘likes’.
Ideally, you’ll have experience with ‘SEO’ and understand how it fits into the equation. If you’ve got some experience with marketing automation (eg Marketo, Silverpop, Pardot, etc) then that’s a bonus.
Experience and qualifications:
A role like this means that some specific experience is required. You will have worked in a similar agency, or within a communications PR business for at least 3 years.
You’ll have been exposed to social media, email marketing, digital publishing and journalism (in some form) for much of this time.
You’ll have a coherent portfolio of content that you’ve created or contributed to, and be able to demonstrate where this is placed.
You’ll probably have a degree or equivalent, although ability outweighs qualifications.
You’ll need to be happy working between the Refinery Group head office in Manchester and our main digital office at Door4 in Lancashire (M12 and BB9)
