Do you want to be part of an exciting, dynamic agency with a portfolio of industry leading clients?
If the answer to all these questions is “Yes”, then we’d love to meet you; you could be just the person to fill our vacancy for an Assistant Technical Project Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, driven person to join our team and progress their events career.
HGA is a successful, well established and growing integrated communications agency based in the NW and founded on an award winning Live Events operation working throughout the UK.
This successful candidate will work alongside our Technical Project Manager to provide support to the in-house events production teams, assisting at every step of the events process from pitching for new business through to the onsite delivery of every type and scale of event ranging from small-scale awards ceremonies to large-scale conferences.
This role is suited to an ambitious technician with proven ability and at least 2 years’ relevant experience who wants to develop their career and become a Technical Project Manager. Whilst the ability to operate across the usual AV areas of sound, projection and video is desirable, we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience in lighting and rigging.
In addition to on-site events delivery you will also be required to devise and articulate achievable and innovative technical solutions, to back these up with robust budgets and written specifications that will typically cover the event’s lighting, sound, video, projection, staging, crewing and power requirements. Experience of translating the chosen solution into accurate technical (AutoCAD) drawings is also an advantage although not essential.
You will advise the event producer of the implications that the inevitable project changes have for the technical budget and the technical delivery of the event, updating plans and budgets accordingly.
This role is most definitely hands on; so expect to be running small technical events on your own and working as part of a technical team on larger events.
Whilst we own significant stocks of technical equipment you will also need to source and negotiate with third party suppliers to deliver to our high standards at the most competitive rates.
The role will see you spend some of your time at our technical facilities in Preston, helping to maintain and prepare HGA’s equipment, identifying any technical issues or the need for additional technical kit. You will also work from our production offices in Greater Manchester, attend meetings at our clients’ premises, undertake technical recce visits and act as an on-site project manager/technician. As such a full clean driving license is an essential requirement for this role.
We offer competitive remuneration packages that are tailored to ensure we recruit and retain the best talent available, and this will include sector leading salary and holiday entitlements, bonus scheme, private health, company pension, TOIL arrangements and other meaningful benefits.
HGA has a long term record of investing in the development of its staff and promoting from within and as such this position is ideally suited to a candidate with ambition and the ability to progress within a nationally recognised agency.
