Contract Type: Yorkshire is looking to recruit an Assistant Editor to be based at our office in Leeds city centre.

We start work at 7am every morning and produce accurate and engaging articles to a very tight deadline for our daily emails. As a digital business, being first is important to us at all times of the day and so the right candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to work quickly and manage a busy, and often heavy, workload.

Experience in business journalism is a definite advantage, but not essential. It is more important to be able to show strong traditional newsgathering skills and an awareness of the issues and challenges that Yorkshire businesses face.

Strong candidates will be able to demonstrate effective use of social media for storygathering and audience engagement, and experience in creating video, audio, infographics or other digital storytelling methods would also be welcomed.

Reporting to a newly-appointed editor, this is a great opportunity for someone who thrives working in a small team and wants to further their career with an established and ambitious company.
