Havas Lynx is a healthcare communications agency headquartered in Manchester. From our City Centre offices, we create and deliver a wide range of engaging digital solutions, including responsive websites, microsites, mobile applications and games, to name a few.
We’re a large agency, so we are structured into teams of around 25-30 people which facilitates better team work, communication, efficiency and collaboration. It means we can be more creative and also more responsive to our clients. As we continue to grow, we’re setting up new teams, and those teams are made up of a combination of existing Lynx folk and new additions. We now have an opportunity for an experienced Front end Developer to join one of our newest teams.
You’ll be the first developer in the team – so we’re looking for someone who is technically strong, but what is also important is your professional skill set and a sense of passion, we’re looking for someone who wants to be part of something new – you get the benefit of the backing of a big agency, but the excitement of being in a start-up environment.
Professionally and personally, we’re looking for a team player. As the sole front end developer, you’ll be the person who advises the rest of the team on the best way to approach a project and how long it’s going to take. So we need someone who can contribute to brain storms and the development of quotes and proposals and draw on broad knowledge and a broad skill set, which you are proactive in keeping up to date. You should be a great problem solver. You’ll be the person who makes the recommendation as to the technical approach – sometimes this is going to allow you to flex your muscles and also learn new things, sometimes you’re going to be looking for the simplest and quickest solution – we’re not about reinventing the wheel or the use of fancy tech for the sake of fancy tech – we’re about producing something solid and reliable for our clients and working in a clean and efficient way. In terms of your approach, the most important thing is that you become very much a part of the team – working in support of one another to do an absolutely brilliant job. We take great pride in what we do, and we are looking to see that from you too.
In time, the team will grow and you’ll need to develop your management skills and be able to act as a mentor and actively bring on more junior team members. This is something that we’d like you to be open to, but we’ll help you to develop the associated skill set if you haven’t had the opportunity to do this already.
