Morrisons has launched its Christmas campaign, highlighting the role food plays in the festive period.

The Yorkshire-based retailer unveiled its first two adverts on TV today, having first aired them on Facebook yesterday.

The first centres on a young boy revising for an anticipated game of Trivial Pursuit with his Grandad after Christmas Day dinner.

Watch it here:

The 40-second spot shows Morrisons staff helping the boy revise questions ahead of the real game.

The second ad plays on the common issue of finding room to store all the Christmas dinner food and shows a packed fridge, garden shed, dolls house and bird bath all overflowing with food.

Andy Atkinson, Morrisons marketing director, said: “Christmas is a special time of the year where families and friends gather together. Our adverts show our staff, the real heroes of our business, working hard to prepare festive food, offering great service and advice, and helping customers to create their own special moments at home with their family and loved ones.”

Neil Gorringe directed the spots through Moxie Pictures. The campaign will run across TV, radio, outdoor, press and digital channels.
