“The Ad Break Takeover is a perfect opportunity for us to have some fun with the brand, and help capture’s unique personality, sense of humour and tone of voice,” explained Georgina Crosswell, director of marketing for

“Alan’s re-enactment of our Chris de Burgh advert has had us belly laughing, so we can’t wait to see it play out during Sunday night’s show. And of course, we’re hoping to secure a second airing of the advert through those all-important viewer votes.”

The company is extending the campaign online, by featuring a number of new comedians from across the UK to create their own parodies of the ad, for its social media channels.

Also appearing in the ad break takeover will be Chester’s MoneySuperMarket.

This year, viewers will be invited to Tweet for their favourite spoof ad, which will then be screened for a second time before the end of the Gala.

Channel 4’s Comedy Gala is held in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The slots for LateRooms, MoneySupermarket and Victoria Plumbing were secured by MediaCom Manchester.
