ITV has made seven redundancies at its CITV marketing promotions team based at MediaCityUK in Salford.
The move will reduce the headcount from 16 to nine, with the broadcaster telling Prolific North it wanted to ‘streamline’ the team under the umbrella of the ITV Creative department.
The Salford team has worked on campaigns around shows including the BAFTA-winning Share A Story and trailer campaigns for the recent relaunch of kids’ classic, Thunderbirds.
An ITV spokesman said: “We are planning to bring together marketing promotions for all of our channels under the wing of our ITV Creative department to ensure that our promotional activity is prioritised and aligned.
“CITV will continue to have a dedicated creative operation in MediaCity, but we are proposing to streamline the current team.”
The news comes a day after Prolific North revealed a number of jobs were set to go at 3sixtymedia, the MediaCityUK-based post production and crewing company, after a review by owners ITV Studios.
The number of roles at risk are expected to be in “double figures”. A decision will be made in the New Year.
