BBC Sport has added to its coverage of international rugby union, with a new five year highlights deal with the RFU.

Last week, it was confirmed that the BBC and ITV would be sharing broadcast of the 6 Nations until 2021.

This latest agreement assures coverage of all England’s autumn matches on BBC television until the end of the 2019/20 season. It includes highlights of the team’s summer QBE Internationals this August and September on television and the iPlayer.

The BBC also retains the live radio rights.

“We’re very pleased to continue our relationship with the RFU.  This valued partnership offers audiences the best of the action from the England team through our television highlights programmes and live radio coverage and we look forward to following their path to this year’s Rugby World Cup and onwards,” said Barbara Slater, director of MediaCityUK-based BBC Sport.
