Nick Jackson, the former business editor of The Bolton News, has joined as its deputy editor for the North West.

He’ll be concentrating on property, regeneration, private companies and general business news as well as providing back-up for North West editor Chris Barry.

He takes over from James Graham, who has moved to BBC Radio 5 live at MediaCityUK, initially on a short-term contract.

Graham was part of’s North West launch team in 2008, returning for a second stint in 2012.

Jackson worked on the Newsquest-owned Bolton News for around 30 years in total, latterly enjoying a 14-month spell as editor of the business section. Prior to that, he worked on the sports desk overseeing production of one of its other titles, The Bury Times.

He said: “I am already enjoying being part of a great team here. Manchester and the North West is a fertile ground for business news and activity and I am aiming to help TBD to continue to capitalise on that.”
